Hello beautiful human!

I’m Sarah, a 24-year-old girl slowly and intentionally trying to explore the world. My mom calls me her free bird, and my friends refer to me as a sunflower when expressing how they perceive me. I drink a whole lot of coffee and read more than I have the time for. I seek friendships in most settings and can listen to strangers’ life stories for hours. I enjoy a wide range of music both mindlessly and when I need to focus. It’s safe to say I take pride in my growing vinyl collection. I grew up dancing my whole life; thus, I naturally continue to make my physical/mental health a top priority. Movement is so key for me. Thrifting and attempting to pinpoint my style in terms of fashion and outward aesthetics is undoubtedly a guilty pleasure. Anyone who knows how my brain operates would tell you I’m constantly brainstorming the next adventure; however, sitting back and appreciating exactly where my feet are is equally important to me. I find myself filled with gratitude when I reflect on the hearts and experiences that shaped me back in my Alabama hometown, as well as those from my childhood roots in Hawaii and Georgia.

Currently?

I recently moved to the incredible city of St. Pete, FL to pursue a role as a writer/content creator for a nonprofit that serves people with disabilities around Tampa Bay!

I’ve always said that patience is a virtue, and boy was I right because what was meant for me sure did not miss me. Within just a few months of living in St. Pete, I’ve found myself forming a community I’m beyond grateful for, working a job that could hardly be considered “work” (I love what I do), and exploring new passions/layers of self. Every penny saved is another toward future travels, but I’m certainly embracing the city in which my feet currently reside.

Fun Fact #1

I spent nearly 4 really cool years of my childhood living in Hawaii.

Little me had no idea just how much of a dream she was living during the years of being a Navy brat. I went to an elementary school for military kids where field trips consisted of whale watching in the middle of the ocean and Lei Day was celebrated annually. I spent every Christmas hovering over coral reefs on the North Shore and swimming with green sea turtles bigger than me. Returning in my 20s brought back years of memories and fully confirmed that Hawaii is still the place where I feel most at home.

I aspire to incorporate my love of writing and travel ambitions into future work (in some capacity).

In case you haven’t gathered, two things that bring me an overwhelming amount of joy are the gifts of the written word and the outward world.

Fun Fact #3

Getting my solo skydiving A license is high on the bucketlist.

Yes, I’ve only been skydiving once. But yes, it was a few of the greatest minutes of my life. One day, preferably in the near future, I WILL carve out time to learn and train to get my solo license.
